Iowa Region SCCA Event #4 (1) 2020 Pre-Event Info!!

Iowa Region SCCA AutoX #4 2020 June 21st @ Hawkeye Tech.

Well, it was supposed to be #4, but it’s our first one of the year!

First things first.

Hawkeye Tech required protocol for us to race.

A face mask is 100% required when outside your vehicle.

2020 Solo General Protocols

We will have a limited supply of masks and gloves available, but please bring your own we do not have enough to supply everyone.

We will have sanitizer stations available. Use as needed.

Social distancing request is 6ft, unless you’re within a family unit.

There will be no Loaner Helmets Available, if you need a helmet respond to this email and we can go over options.

These will be enforced. Our goal for this season is to have fun, we will be giving warnings for breaking protocol. If warnings are not heeded we reserve the right to request an individual or group to leave the event without a refund.

June 21st Event Protocols

Registration and Payment through MSReg. Please go to the event in your MSReg dashboard and “Pay Now” if you haven’t already. This will request CC information for future billing. You can pay for all your future events without issue.

Waivers will be completed electronically through SpeedWaivers. You will receive a link to this email address or there will be a QRCode you can use at the site to sign the waiver. Please only sign the waiver if you intend on attending.

Registration Check-in and Payment Processing will happen at the entrance of the event when you show your waiver has been completed. We will check DL and SCCA memberships, so please have them ready.

Upon successful check-in please proceed to parking, begin standard unloading and vehicle prep. Be conscious of social distancing when parking. Our events will have a lower turnout both because of COVID and registration caps to help alleviate social distancing concerns. Remember to follow site specific protocols at all times while on site.

Tech Inspectors will be roaming the parking “paddock” area during the Tech Inspection Time Window. When you’re ready to be inspected please pop your hood and stand in front of your vehicle. Tech Inspectors will come around to assist you in performing your tech inspection. Please print and complete the self-tech form prior to the event, if you do not own a printer (or don’t have ink because it costs more than hoosiers*) email me at iowaregionscca@gmail.com and i’ll provide an alternate solution for your proof of self tech. You are responsible to make sure your vehicle is ready to be tech’d within the tech inspection time window.

Driver’s meeting will be handled per usual near the timing truck with the PA system. We will request you honor social distancing and venue mask policy. Dan B with the Focus RS will be prowling the crowd with his 7 ft wingspan testing peoples adherence to this request.

Course Walks, honor social distancing, stay spaced out during your walk, don’t forget venue mask policy. If we have to delay the event a little to get everyone course walks we will. Novice course walk may need to be split or modified depending on need.

Grid, honor social distancing, stay spaced out while in Grid. Follow Grid Chief’s direction for parking. Follow venue mask policy.

Driving, no different. Helmet on, follow the flaggers. Slow down to walking pace after the finish and return to your grid spot.

Course Work, stay spread out, follow venue mask policy. We are working on providing hand sanitizer for each worker station but if you have your own don’t hesitate to bring a personal one. It’s good protocol to sanitize after grabbing cones. Corner Captain (radio and flag) will wipe down both flag and radio before the start of their shift and after their shift. We will attempt to group corner workers with people who are already comfortable around each other regarding distancing. Please respond to this email with a short list of people you’re comfortable working closer with or if you wish to work in an area with reduced contact.

Between heats we will have longer periods of time to allow for cleaning of common items.

Course Clean up will be done in a manner to reduce multiple contact of common items. Each person from a worker station stacks one set of cones and delivers it to the timing truck. One individual will then load the cones into the truck and wash up accordingly afterwards.

Event rewards (if applicable) will happen with social distancing observed after complete course clean up.

We intend on having live timing up and running for this event which will remove the requirement for print outs (and gatherings at the truck).
